If you think, your Volvo has a serious defect that affects the safety of the vehicle, report it to the Volvo Dealer immediately. If you’re not happy with how the Volvo Dealer is dealing with your report, in the UK you should contact the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

But before that, you can describe the fault of your Volvo in our forum. Maybe some other Volvo owner will learn that he experienced the same issue. Multiple occurrences of identical defects mean a better chance of success in a complaint filed with the DVSA. Our website is visited by Volvo owners from all over the world.

V40 Several owners reporting failing door locks which mean that you can’t get in or out of the affected doors. Some owners have had free lock replacements (up to 4 years old)but many older cars are having the same problem. As the door will not open, surely this is an MOT fail and is dangerous for emergency evacuation of the car?
